Cheers to the Good Ones...

Good performers in any respective field are so good they do not need to tell you they are good. Good things happen when good performers are around. Examples -

  • Good musicians are so good they do not need to tell people they are good musicians. People will hear it with their own ears.
  • Good writers are so good they do not need to tell everyone they are good writers. People will read their work with their own eyes and feel the words in their heart.
  • Good sales people are so good they do not need to tell you they are good. People will trust them and never feel like they are being sold.
  • Good XYZ people are so good they do not need to tell you they are good. You get my point...

Most people who are at the top of their game - do not need to tell you they are the top ones in their trade. They show you. The musician, Prince - He will show you he can sing better, play guitar better and dance better than you or anyone else. He does not need to tell you he is better. He is not good, he is great.

Do you see Prince taking selfies of himself boasting about his guitar skills? No. He shows you...

Listen closely to people in your work circle OR social media feed - many people will talk about themselves and use words and stories to makes themselves appear smarter and better than everyone else. They want to dominate you so they can look good, but are they really that good?

Your next job interview - ask the candidate to explain when they witnessed someone else be good in their field. What was it they did? Why did they think it was good? No wrong answer with this question. You will learn what the candidate values and what they see as good. Their description of good is most likely who they are OR who they aspire to be.

Be good for yourself today. Cheers.
