The Gratitude List
Thursday is Thanksgiving in the good ole USA…a day of family fights, food, naps, laughs, pie, drinks, football, Black Jack and clove cigarettes. I hope covered it all. Also a good day to show gratitude. I’m sure you know where this is going. Yes...my gratitude list. I had to summarize the list or we’d be here until The Days Of 47 Pioneer's Day parade.
Here is my personal and partial list. And also, if your Aunt Selma asks you what you do for work, it's okay if you can't answer her question in two minutes or less. She is just being nice.
I’m grateful for the HR Hound Community
That is you. I chose the word "community" because it sounds smart and popular. Just know I am thankful for YOU, the talented Sales, Marketing, Musician, Business Pro, Consultant, Entrepreneur, Scholar, Executive, work colleague, family member, blogger, HR Pro at any level, technology reader. Did I miss anyone? I'm sure I did. Be aware that I will continue to work hard and bring content worth your time.
I’m grateful for WordPress
WordPress is the most popular blogging system in use on the internet. The HR Hound blog uses the WordPress platform. I met their Head of Special Projects in Chicago last month. Hi Krutal! I am grateful for you and the WordPress team! I am also grateful to a good man responsible for hosting this blog. Hi Al!
And Big Players in the blogging community
Chris Brogan, Seth Godin, Kris Dunn, Trish McFarlane, anyone who subscribes to FOT nation or anyone who has the juevos to put their thoughts online. You put ideas in my head like a song stuck on repeat. I am grateful for you.
Grateful for The Cool Tribe
If I know you from past or current work, school, HR Technology conference in Chicago, prison (j/k), tennis courts, religion, biking, life, etc. I am thankful for you. You guys and gals are leaders. I love to learn from you.
I drink, pee, and swim water. Different kinds of course. Without water I would die. For that I am grateful for the water in my life. I am thankful I am healthy. A few pains here or there, but overall I feel good.
Grateful for the Crazy People
Some say they have crazy family people who meet for Thanksgiving. I do in my life. That's what makes us family. The craziness. Nothing will scare me about crazy. Unless your entire family smokes crack cocaine out of the Turkey carcass for Thanksgiving. Now...that would be messed up!
I am thankful I have a job. There are good people at my job. That's all I will share. For today at least.
Lastly and most importantly
I am grateful for my awesome family. To respect their privacy, I keep them out of the HR Hound community. Just know my wife is damn cool and I have the best little man and little princess a Dad could dream of.
What is on your gratitude list? Would love to hear...
